My Approach
To Therapy
I approach therapy through the lens that each client is a walking ecology—a complex, interconnected system shaped by relationships, environments, and experiences.
Ecology, at its core, is the study of interrelationships, and as humans, we are not isolated beings. We are deeply impacted by the people, land, spirit, and systems that surround us.
Our identities and ways of being are shaped by family lineage, the communities we come from, the resources we have (or lack), and even the unspoken traumas passed down through generations—manifesting as survival strategies.
My goal in therapy is to help clients expand their awareness of these connections, recognizing how their relationships and histories inform the way they navigate the world. Through this understanding, we can create space for healing, growth, and intentional change.
My Values
Collaboration – I believe that you are the expert of your own experience. My role is not to dictate your journey but to walk alongside you, offering support and guidance as you navigate healing on your terms.
Compassion – Healing takes time. The process is SLOW, and it’s essential to create space for self-kindness, especially when confronting parts of ourselves that bring up discomfort or pain. Compassion is the foundation that allows us to move through this work with grace.
Curiosity – A spirit of curiosity sustains the therapeutic journey. Judgment often creeps in, creating barriers to growth, but curiosity invites us to explore, understand, and ultimately meet the healed parts of ourselves with openness and acceptance.
Therapeutic Approach
Somatic Experiencing
A body-oriented therapy that helps people heal trauma and stress disorders. It focuses on physical sensations rather than just thoughts and emotions.
Parts Work
A psychotherapeutic approach that views the human mind as a complex system composed of various "parts." These are different aspects of our personality, such as the inner child, the protector, or the critic.
Parts work therapy aims to identify and understand these internal conflicts and work towards creating harmony between them.
Narrative Therapy
A form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping individuals understand and change the stories they tell themselves about their lives.
It aims to empower individuals to create new, more empowering narratives that reflect their values and goals.
Feminist Therapy
A type of therapy that focuses on the impact of social, political, and cultural factors on mental health.
It's based on the idea that gender, power, and social location are key factors in understanding human difficulties.
